Solica ~ Lexington KY Photographer
I just finished up these images for Solica! I think they turned out great considering all of our crazy circumstances!
This building is super old (for the USA) and they did a great job fixing it up!

Samir saw this and told me that he thought it looked like a haunted house through the trees. So, here’s his haunted house picture!

A conference room

Blue skies are beautiful skies!

A night shot, because we ran out of daylight, and I still love it

I loved this hotel they improved! I especially loved the colors!!!!!!! Aren’t they joyful?

I totally made up for all my trouble I’ve caused when photographing – just for this shot. Don’t ask. It was ridiculous.

I can’t wait to show you guys the rest!!!!!!
Happy New Year, Everybody!!!!!!!!!!
No Internet
I would like to apologize to Christina and Alex. I know you guys have been waiting so patiently for your images. I’ve been without Internet since yesterday and it looks like I won’t have Internet until Monday night. As soon as my ISP fixes this, your images will be up. I will reply to all emails on Monday.
Have a happy Fourth of July!
It's up!
Check it out and let me know what you think! www.isabelsam.com
Website is down…
It is currently under construction….because I have a new one coming up! Yeah..I know…crazy…anyway, check back soon – because I can’t wait to show it off!

Senior Rep
I am currently accepting applications for Senior Reps. A Senior Rep would get a free Senior portrait session (and digital images) that would be shot before May 1, 2009. I would then use your pictures to create cards for you to hand out to your classmates to promote Isabel Sam Photography.
If you are interested, please email me (isabel@isabelsam.com) and tell me about yourself (or with any questions). I’m especially interested to know why you think you would be a good rep, why you deserve a free portrait session, and what are your extracurricular interests. I will then choose a group of students to individually interview with their parents and explain all the details of your position as a senior rep. I will need a signed contract (signed by you and your parents/guardians) in order for you to work for me.
I can’t wait to hear from you!!!!
MIAMI ~ Lexington KY Wedding Photographer
Last weekend we made our first ever family trip out of town. Where did we decide to go for our first out of town trip??? Why, Miami of course!!! Because Bernie’s brother, Carlos, was getting married!!!!!! We were really involved in the wedding too! Bernie was a groomsman and I was shooting it
We had a great time getting a ton in while we were down there. Solomon had to meet all his family he hadn’t met yet…so we made our first stop at Abuelita’s (Grandma’s) house where he met his uncles and cousins….
His cousins thought he was rad!

Then we took our overstimulated and staying up way past his bedtime baby over to Romina and Joel’s. Now our friend, Romina, was actually due with little Natalie a few weeks after Solomon’s due date – but the little girl decided to come out May 1st! So, here’s Solomon who is actually bigger and a little bit more developmentally advanced with his little friend who is older than him.
Please keep little Natalie in your prayers. She is super sweet, a real trooper, and it’s a total miracle that this little girl is still around to make her parents smile!!!!

They played really well together

And we even did a mini photo shoot of little Natalie and her mommy

AND Now…..on to the real reason we were in MIAMI!!!!!!!!!!!
CARLOS & NATALIE’s Preview!!!!!!
(I still have hundreds of images to go….but I couldn’t resist posting some that popped out!)
Carlos and his boys….

The groomsmen wanted a jumping shot on the beach….while the groom was kind of against it! But, hey, it looks good!

The bride getting ready for her biggest day!

This is where they got married….

Bernie and Solomon all dressed up
Don’t you love the little tiny bow tie?!

Watching his bride come out…

SOOOOO excited to be getting married!!!!

I would like to take a commercial break to say that I am married to the sexiest groomsman ever!

Kiss your bride!

lighting the unity candle

Mr. & Mrs.

I had the bridal party in stitches over this crazy walk I had them do!

Who doesn’t love a groom who can hold a boquet of flowers ever so seriously?

I’m really happy with this next series

Dancing to “At Last”

They had dancers who danced wonderful tributes

Best. Speech. Ever.

Cutting some Jamaican wedding cake!

Toss the garter!

And the bouquet!

Now some may be wondering what we did with little Solomon while we were both part of the wedding….Well his Wonderful Aunt Angie took care of him!

The boys escaped for something super secret and Angie, Solomon, and I went on a super secret mission to find out what they were up to!
Unfortunately, they saw us! And this guy showing his back end over on the right is my wonderful Bernie sticking his butt out to me while Angie, Solomon, and I ran for the other elevator!

Here’s where they went to!

Yep, the bridesmaids had decorated their hotel room and the groomsmen were in charge of lighting the little candles that were all over the place before Carlos and Natalie got up there! If you look closely – you can see matches in Bernie’s and Mark’s hands

So, we decided to sit down and join the party for a couple of minutes

Solomon really enjoyed his very first super secret mission!

And then we went back downstairs for the rest of the party

The end!
We seriously had such a great time!
And we were really missing the Miami weather when we landed in the very very cold and snow covered Ohio airport!
Favorite images of 2008
2008 was a year of a lot of change for me. I found out I was pregnant with little Solomon at the end of 2007 and spent the first seven months of 2008 desperately trying to get as much done as I could before my life would be taken over by a tiny screaming boy. Here’s a few pictures that kind of describe the year for me…some are still packed in boxes…but here’s what I had on my hard drive to post up here! Oh and I need to add that some of these aren’t my greatest work…sometimes a picture just reminds you of that moment you were in and it makes you laugh and/or cry…
At the beginning of 2008 our friends adopted a wonderful little guy….

Then I found out that Kenya was pregnant with beautiful Ari.

I shot some weddings with Mike….

Kenya and Bruce got married

And a few hours later she had a baby shower….

And a few hours later she went into labor….

Then I shot a few more weddings with Mike….

Nickie and Kevin needed an engagement session before I took a break from shooting….

And it was super fun!

We put an offer on a house…it was accepted a few days before Solomon was born.

Solomon came 3 days after the above picture was taken and we worked out some house details while we were still in the hospital.

I really missed shooting over maternity leave and shot basically anything I could….

Solomon became my favorite subject!

And some other people got “shot” too

I went back to shooting in October.

This is my friend Doug
You will meet this beautiful lady on his right later this year…

This is what I really remember from that day!

first time shooting a Hindu wedding….and it was cool!

Hogan really loved Halloween!

This couple called me “Isa” the whole time…it was cool

Cindy took a wonderful picture for our Christmas card

And I took this goofy one of her family

They are getting married in June of this year!!

Laura was a super sweet bride!

and the last wedding of 2008

My wonderful son on Christmas day!

and on New Years Eve he wouldn’t smile for my camera…he loves his toys now!

2008 was a totally crazy year…but it was wonderful! Thank you to all my clients and new friends for making it so memorable! I love my work and I love capturing all the joy that is in your lives!
I can’t wait to see what 2009 has in store for my little family!
