I’ve been getting the occasional email and/or comment that some people would be interested in a photography class. Most of the people contacting me seem to be people who have bought a fancier camera and don’t really know how to use it.

So, let’s see if the interest and the date can work out! Here’s what I’m opening up!!!! A one day crash course on how to “take better pictures in camera”. That’s right. I’m old school. I truly believe that photoshop should just be used to make your image do a little pop instead of totally relying on it to do everything for you! A great image gets enhanced by photoshop, a poor image takes way too many days of photoshop to get it to look decent. My perfectionist nature prefers a great image. Duh

And the rules of the game:

1. You need to have a camera. Digital is preferred since this is a one day shot. I do know film, though, and if you’d prefer to bring a film camera you can. I just won’t be able to download a card and give you feed back that day.

2. This is going to be an ALL DAY LONG thing. 10 hours. Lunch included. Eat your Wheaties before you come, wear comfy shoes, and be ready to learn.

3. We’ll be going over ‘how to use your camera’, composition, and lighting. This is not an advanced class.

4. Tuition is $250.00. It includes lunch, snacks, water, a textbook, and I’ll have some models for us to photograph through the day.

5. This will be held on August 6th.

6. We need five people to make this happen and no more than ten to still keep it nice and personal.

7. This will be first come, first serve. The first to tell me you are coming and pay for the class are the first registered.

I have been getting an increasing amount of emails and personal messages lately asking for advice on how to take a better picture. So I posted on Facebook asking if there would be any interest in a photography class. And there is some interest! So, why not open this up, huh?

So, if you are interested in learning how to take better pictures, I will be holding two half-day sessions on April 18th and 24th!!! And here are the details:

1. You must own a digital camera that you know how to very basically work.

2. You must own a computer and know how to upload pictures to it from your camera or memory card.

3. Tuition is $250.00/per person. That includes your meal while you are with me and your text book. (Please send me the make and model of your camera so I can get a text book specific to your camera.)

4. You are responsible for printing your images between our two meetings at reputable labs.

5. I will try to work with each person and at the level you are currently at with your photography. We will be focusing on composition, lighting, portraits, and “how to take better pictures while on vacation”.

6. We need a minimum of 5 students for this class to take place, and no more than 10 students in order to keep the lessons some what personal to the different levels of photography each student possess.
