Some of my to-do list before maternity leave….

So, I have this incredibly long to-do list that I’ve been wanting to attack for who knows how long! It just keeps getting longer and longer and longer. I hear all these crazy people who have no children and their own business tell me stuff like “make your to-do list and start getting things done”. Yeah, “let’s see them get all this done and juggle life” is what other mother’s tell me! Basically, what I’ve ended up doing is just prioritizing what I’ve GOT TO GET DONE OR I’LL FREAK OUT and everything else goes on a back burner. Ya know what I mean? And my clients can totally vouch for me getting done what I need to get done! Some of them have gotten their wedding images back in two weeks – yes, 2 Weeks!!!!!

Well, here’s something that’s been on the back burner that I’m going to get done in the next 12 days. I’m updating my investment guide! That’s right! Now, don’t freak out, none of my prices are going up! I’m just adding stuff to it that I’ve started offering that’s not on it!

So, since my business is quite the visual one…I thought I’d let you guys keep me to my word! Here are my pieces of wall art that all need to get on my investment guide!

First up: The Canvas. People tend to know what this is. It’s a photograph that’s been printed on canvas, given extra TLC and UV protection, has been stretched over a wooden frame, has backing paper, and even little silicon feet added to each of the four corners so this beauty will never scratch your walls. It only needs one hook to hang on your wall. That’s right, one teeny tiny hole in the wall for this. I also use a printer that uses very environmentally friendly inks and your canvas is guaranteed for 100 years. You can’t really beat that, huh?

So, here’s a sample.

Next up, is the Float Wrap. It’s basically a large photographic print that has been wrapped around a board with a sponge in it. Gator board is then attached to the back of the piece to allow you to hang this on your wall with just one screw. I, however, have found that I can use command strips and then no one has to start World War III in their house over holes in the wall. YAY for Happy Happy marriages!!!! Oh and the gator board allows this to “float” approximately one inch off your wall – hence the name “Float Wrap”. :-)

Here’s the front of one of them:

And the back of another float wrap showing the command strips.

The next product is called a Metal Mural. These are basically multiple squares of metal that have had the photographic image printed over them. You then use metal hooks to connect the whole piece. It comes with everything shown except for the type of screws you need to hang this into the wall. Depending on the size of the mural, you could need 3-5 screws to hang this in your home. Metal Murals look especially cool with really grungy or edgy photographs.

And last, but not least, are my Acrylic Prints. These are fantabulous for really colorful prints. They almost look like a big thick piece of plastic that has the image melted over a back piece that’s been embedded into the plastic. (I hope that makes sense!) Anyway, if you have a really colorful image that you want to showcase – this is the piece for you! It even looks better when it’s back lit! All of these, no matter the size, require four screws to put this into your wall. The screws are covered by the metal circles you see in the corners.

Here’s a front view:

So, that’s it! I’ll be adding these beauties to the investment guides very soon!

Until later,

Isa

Mount Notre Dame

The class of 2011 had a Senior Picnic last weekend to celebrate the beginning of the school year! We thought it’d be fun to bring along the happy booth – so we did! BUT then it rained like crazy – so only half of the booth came because we were kind of squished into a corner of the shelter. So, we did what we had to do! We still had fun!!!!! :-)

Here’s one picture from the picnic – I’m not going to publicly publish the rest of them on here since the majority of these girls are still minors. If you are a Mount Notre Dame Senior you can get the password to the post below this one from Peggy Bullock, Emily Bullock, or Ciara Rosser. They also have the access code to the online gallery! Go to clients -> register your email address -> and then enter the access code!

Ciara & Kip’s BFF Senior Session

Ciara and Kip opted for the BFF option in my senior pictures packages. (BFF = Best Friends Forever) They are actually step-siblings, but you’d almost think these two were twins from how great they are together!!!!

We started out with Ciara’s make-up by the fabulous Heidi McKenna and hair by the fabulous Jenny Hawins!

Ciara01 copy

And then they wore their “formal” clothes out of the house…and we found this abandoned mechanic’s place to get these. :-)

Ciara02 copy

Ciara said that she couldn’t believe she was in this picture. I get that reaction a lot from my clients…I still can’t figure out why?!

Ciara03 copy

Kip just looks good.

Kip03 copy

Then we went to a park and changed clothes. Kip had only two outfits…and is super laid back….he was a piece of cake to photograph!

Kip08 copy

Ciara had some more outfits, but we made sure that she’d look unique with her poses. There was no way this beautiful girl was going to look like everyone else’s senior pictures!

Ciara07 copy

This is their favorite image from the session!

Kip13 copy

So, how did all those clothes get carried around? Like this, of course! :-)

Kip17 copy

They love running and jumping! And so do I! It’s just so hard on me with my big belly that I have until the end of November.

Kip25 copy

Sun-kissed.

Kip29 copy

This is sooooo Ciara!

Ciara18 copy

And she wanted one of her running in her soccer uniform. :-)

Ciara26 copy

And another one just for fun!

Ciara20 copy

BFF sessions are a little different than normal sessions. These work extremely well for best friends who are super super close, twins, and even triplets. Each participant saves $50.00 off his/her package and I’ve noticed that the sessions go faster and are even more relaxed because your rad buddy is there with you! I love them and think they are a total Win!!!! :-)

If you’d like to see their complete set of images watch below.

Kip’s video

Ciara’s video

And, if you know Ciara and/or Kip – go see them for their gift cards! They each have cards from their session with a picture of them on the front and a $50.00 gift card on the back! You can use these towards your session or package or wall art – how cool is that?!

Thanks so much for a super fun time, Ciara and Kip! See you both soon!

Emily’s Senior Session

Emily’s session of course started out with fabulous make-up by Heidi McKenna!

EB01 copy

And hair by Jenny Hawkins!

EB04 copy

We then headed over to her Mount Notre Dame :-) And got some fun pictures in places she normally hangs out at! Here’s the front!

EB08 copy

EB13 copy

And a staircase where her Anime club holds their meetings. (I know, I wish they’d give them a room like all the other clubs!)

EB15 copy

EB17 copy

And then we headed over to the Borders which holds a large amount of Anime books! She’s reading one that she helped edit! How cool is that?!?!?!?!?!

EB23 copy

And then we ran behind borders to get some funky shots!

Emily is such a natural!!!!!!!!!

Amy was the first this year and her photographs came out just as sweet and unique as she is. :)

AV01 copy

Jenny Hawkins did a fabulous job on her hair!

AV03 copy

And Heidi McKenna was fabulous with her make-up, as usual. (She also keeps her clients laughing the whole time she’s there!)

AV05 copy

Then we moved on to her dance center and played around in a dance room for the awesome 10 minutes we had there!

AV07 copy

Yep.

AV16 copy

I liked the big M. She kinda looks like she could be a reporter here, doesn’t she?

AV19 copy

AV24 copy

Who doesn’t read their school newspaper “en pointe”?

Blog slackin'…..

Yes, I know. I don’t need to be reminded again ;)

The truth is, July sucked for us. Just plain old SUCKED. We had too many stressors and too many people dying. What.The.Heck!

Anyway, to make up for it, and to wish everyone a much happier August….Here are some really really super duper recent pictures!

Solomon had his very first hair cut :)

_ISS3881

He got all his head hairs cut.

_ISS3885

_ISS3897

Poor kid didn’t know what hit him! ;)

_ISS3919

These guys are getting married in August of this year…so August should be better than July!

_ISS4197

And this is Megan. She’s going to be a Senior this year. Then she goes to College :D Woot!

August will be better than July. I am sure of it!

Kelli!

Kelli is just sweetness!

At one point during the shoot I told her to give me her serious look and she started laughing and told me she didn’t think she had a serious look! I started rolling with laughter too :) It was fun! I needed some laughter! I’ve been stressin’ sooooooooo much lately!!!!!

KJ02 copy

Okay, but after all the giggles…..I think she can rock a serious look!

KJ07 copy

Welcome to my version of the big styrofoam graduation year numbers ;)

KJ13 copy

She did like 5 cartwheels so I could get this :D

KJ17 copy

Kelli is such a kind and relaxed young lady. She was so willing to do whatever and didn’t even care when her hair was getting messed up. She just said that’s how her hair is – and that is awesome! :) It was fun spending the evening with you and your just as sweet mom! I can’t wait to see you soon!

Erin

I can so honestly say that I really enjoy meeting these seniors! They are each so different and so wonderful in their own special way. Erin is no exception to that and I had so much fun photographing her happy self last week!!!!

Here’s a few of my favorites from the day :)

The wind was totally crazy!!!! But we worked it! Hey some people pay big bucks to have HUGE fans at their photo shoot and God blessed us with some awesome wind that we had to work with (or it would have eaten us alive ;) )

ep03-copy

I very rarely use textures, but for some reason this shot was screaming textures to me…so here’s my take on it!

ep04-copy

She really liked the edgy fashion feel of Serena’s shoot and wanted to incorporate that into her own….

ep08-copy

Erin must be a wonderful ballerina!

ep09-copy

It’s too bad she had one sprained ankle :(
