Senior Model Program

**********Edited on 3/5/10 – Thank you everyone for the applications! I have just a few spots left – so shoot me an email if you would still like to participate!********************

It’s that time of year people! Yes, it’s time to gear up for Senior Pictures!!!!! WOOOTTTTT!!!

And how do I get ready for the Senior Season? By hiring some rad High School Juniors!

SO, if you are currently a Junior in any high school (public or private) around the Cincinnati area – you could be a Senior Model for Isabel Sam Photography! A Senior Model is an out going person who is involved with different types of activities in and out of school, stays on the right side of the law, and loves unique photographs.

I’m going to change up the format this year – so here are the rules of the game:

To join the Senior Model Program – please click HERE and download an application.

Fill the application out and email it to isabel {at} isabelsam {dot} com before March 5th 2010.

I will email you by March 10th – if you have been selected to come in for an interview with at least one parent/guardian.

Need more info? Shoot me an email (isabel at isabelsam dot com) and I can tell you more!

This years program is going to be AWESOME!

Oh and p.s. – thank you everyone who helped me pick a logo! I finally have one I’m happy with! :D

Take better pictures now!

I have been getting an increasing amount of emails and personal messages lately asking for advice on how to take a better picture. So I posted on Facebook asking if there would be any interest in a photography class. And there is some interest! So, why not open this up, huh?

So, if you are interested in learning how to take better pictures, I will be holding two half-day sessions on April 18th and 24th!!! And here are the details:

1. You must own a digital camera that you know how to very basically work.

2. You must own a computer and know how to upload pictures to it from your camera or memory card.

3. Tuition is $250.00/per person. That includes your meal while you are with me and your text book. (Please send me the make and model of your camera so I can get a text book specific to your camera.)

4. You are responsible for printing your images between our two meetings at reputable labs.

5. I will try to work with each person and at the level you are currently at with your photography. We will be focusing on composition, lighting, portraits, and “how to take better pictures while on vacation”.

6. We need a minimum of 5 students for this class to take place, and no more than 10 students in order to keep the lessons some what personal to the different levels of photography each student possess.

This will be so fun!

Bringing in the New Year with a contest!

I hope your New Year has started out fabulously!!!

I wanted to start out this year with something fun and happy and joyful and different! :-) So, here it goes! (Actually, I do this every year – it’s just that the need has always been presented to me, so I don’t post it, but this year – I don’t have one of these weddings on the books!)

Do you know a fun couple who constantly put others first? Are they planning a 2010 wedding, but have gone through HUGE AND GREAT difficulties (like surviving cancer, death of a parent…etc…), and just don’t know where the money will come from? Are they people who inspire you to do better and help others here on this earth?

If so, I want to hear their story! BECAUSE I want to give them free wedding photography! That’s right, I will give the winning couple 8 hours of coverage, an 8×8 Coffee table book, and an engagement session – all for free!

All I need is their story by March 1st 2010 (please limit this to one page), permission to post their story on my blog, and whoever wins this contest must sign a model release for me to post their images on my blog-site. (Oh and the winning couple must possess a real need….not being able to afford mortgage payments on their 2 million dollar vacation home in Paris does not qualify them. Sorry!) I am so excited to read the entries!!!!!

Jen

We’ve been telling lies and being secretive for weeks…but now I can let these out! I shot the super duper most fastest maternity session ever a week ago for Jen! So here’s some of the shots we got :-) Enjoy!

We started out at her home.

She thought this book was so stinkin’ adorable!

Then we went outside to ridiculously COLD FRIGID Temperatures….

So we did an inside version of this shot….

I’m so excited! I can’t wait to see you all there!

Oh and a post with no photo is sad…so here’s one from the last time!

Solica

I just finished up these images for Solica! I think they turned out great considering all of our crazy circumstances! :)

This building is super old (for the USA) and they did a great job fixing it up!

Samir saw this and told me that he thought it looked like a haunted house through the trees. So, here’s his haunted house picture! ;-)

Happy New Year, Everybody!!!!!!!!!!

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas! I hope yours was great!

I’ve been working on a commercial project for a construction management firm called Solica. It’s been pretty fun running around and photographing what they’ve done!

They are super anxious to get their images back, so I thought they might like a quick preview! :-)

Here’s an interior of one of their buildings!

buildingone6 copy

And they actually didn’t build this building, but they are fixing up a portion of it…so they wanted an exterior shot. :)

medbuildin2 copy

I know I normally don’t photograph anything other than people, but I thought this might be something fun for me!

And nextly (yes I just invented a word) we went to our church’s Christmas Eve service to celebrate Jesus’ birth! I took some pictures during the service and Solomon worked really hard to attract all the attention his way. ;-) (Poor Bernie!)

That’s it for now! I wish you all a great and wonderful and superly even betterly New Year!

Much love,

Isa

Happy Booth Party!

We had fun at Caribou Coffee doing these :) If you missed it, but want to come to another one, I’ll be doing a few more this winter!

HBCC01 copy

Meet Jennifer. She is the manager and super duper sweet!

HBCC03 copy

Some crazy kid that was there….

HBCC10 copy

No, they both are not pregnant! Jeremy’s got Bernies (formerly Jeremy’s sweater until it got shrunk down to Bernie’s size) sweater rolled up under his sweater. ;-)

HBCC20 copy

Thanks for looking!!!!

Rachel

So remember that blog post where I asked people to submit stories of people who deserved a free lifestyle session for Christmas? And then do you remember the one where I announced the winner was Rachel?

Okay, well, if you don’t, go scroll down ;-)

And either way, here is her post!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She was a total joy to meet! I seriously love her spirit!

So here’s how we started out. Their dog, Buckeye, was ready to run and play but they kept him tied up until they were all ready to go! Poor big doggie!

RJC01 copy

But then they were ready and he took them for a walk ;)

RJC03 copy

They did their favorite thing – which is running up and down the river! How fun!!! I can’t wait until Solomon can do that too with out major disasters!

RJC06 copy

Rachel is such a good mom!

RJC14 copy

Then I took a few portraits of her beautiful self!

RJC15 copy

RJC17 copy

I’m in love with these eyes!!!!!

RJC18 copy

Okay, so, this is so cool! Rachel’s dad actually helped restore this old cabin that’s behind them in this picture! How cool is that?!

RJC24 copy

We had a bit of a snafu with some plans, so we had to cut the session short….BUT Rachel and her cool son came to my Happy Booth party at Caribou Coffee and we made up for most of it!

RJC28 copy

I loved all of his poses!!!!!

RJC31 copy

The end! I can’t wait to see you guys soon!

Merry Christmas everybody!
